World Bank drives Covid-19 recovery in East Asia, Pacific with USD 1.9 billion commitment and vaccination success

Countries in East Asia and the Pacific (EAP) were swift to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with the help of the World Bank. The bank allocated USD 1.9 billion for 18 COVID-19 health response projects in the region. Successes include Indonesia's treatment of 6 million cases and the Philippines receiving 33 million vaccine doses. The World Bank's Evolution Roadmap prioritizes urgent action to address poverty, economic distress, and global challenges like climate change and pandemics.
