Sebi eases e-onboarding for portfolio managers

The capital markets regulator Sebi relaxed the digital onboarding process for clients of portfolio managers on Friday. This move is aimed at facilitating ease of doing business. Portfolio managers must ensure that new clients acknowledge the fee structure by using a typed or electronically written note, instead of the current practice where clients provide the same in their own handwriting.
