Mother of Nottingham attacks victim feels she was 'foolish to trust legal system' - as review into hospital which treated killer ordered
Sunday, 28 January 2024 The mother of one of the victims of the knife attack in Nottingham last year has said she was "foolish to trust the legal system" after the killer was sentenced to detention in a high-security hospital.
Emma Webber, mother of Nottingham stabbings victim Barnaby Webber, said outside court that “true justice has not been served today”, adding the families of Valdo Calocane’s victims had been “let down” by the CPS and police after the triple killer was handed an indefinite hospital order....
The parents of Grace O’Malley-Kumar have blamed “failings” in the system for a series of stabbing attacks, including a sword attack in Hainault on Tuesday and a school stabbing in Sheffield on Wednesday. Grace’s father, Dr Sanjoy Kumar, said “positive change is so long overdue” after a 14-year-old boy was killed in Hainault and three teenage boys were admitted to hospital in Sheffield following the attacks.
