The Kurdish militant group PKK, whose leader Abdullah Öcalan has been imprisoned since 1999, made the decision to disband in a move towards ending its conflict with Turkey.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Trump met with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa, marking the first such meeting in 25 years. Trump urged Syria to join the Abraham Accords with Israel, expel foreign militants, and take control of ISIS camps run by Kurdish forces.
