Tamil Nadu seeks special package of Rs 1,000 crore to address water crisis

The special package assistance would be used to augment irrigation structures in drought-prone areas to address the agrarian distress and drinking water crisis, similar to the allocation made to Maharashtra, said state deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam. He met finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman at pre-budget consultations and sought a special package of Rs 1,000 crore.
