Covid-19: Centre to assess Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Surat, Chennai

After actor Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan tested positive for the coronavirus, now the latter's wife and actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan have contracted COVID-19. However, Jaya Bachchan has tested negative for the virus. The information was revealed by Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Twitter.
Sever water-logging witnessed in Gujarat's Dwarka after heavy rainfall. Water-logging disrupted daily lives of people. Traffic snarled due to the water-logged roads. Extremely heavy rainfall is on cards in Jamnagar, Dwarka and Kutch districts, predicted Ahmedabad's Meteorological Department.
Informing about the weather conditions, Ahmedabad's Meteorological Department Director, Jayanta Sarkar, on July 07 said that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Jamnagar, Dwarka and Kutch districts of Gujarat. "Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Jamnagar, Dwarka and Kutch. Very heavy rainfall will lash Gir Somnath, Junagarh, Porbandar and Rajkot. Almost all the districts in Saurashtra will receive heavy rainfall today," he said. Meanwhile, a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rescued two people stuck in the Und river catchment area in Jamnagar district due to continuous rainfall.
Fire broke out at Indian Bank ATM in Ahmedabad on July 06. Incident occurred at CTM Area. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident. Cause of fire is not known yet. More details awaited.
Jewellery shop owners in Surat are incurring losses as gold artisans have returned to their native places due to COVID-19. Vijay Mangukiya, Secretary, Surat Jewellery Association said, "Around 70% of artisans have left in COVID fear.""Most of these artisans are from West Bengal. Our expenses are fixed but income has reduced as there is shortage of labour as well as less demand for gold. The condition has become so worst that we are unable to survive," Vijay Mangukiya added. In the times of pandemic the demand of gold has also gone down.
A woman bank staff assaulted by the cop in the bank premises. The incident happened on June 23 in Gujarat's Surat and captured on the CCTV camera. Soon after the incident, All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) on Tuesday night appealed to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to save bank staff from such assaults by enraged customers. FM also condemned the incident and assured strict action against the accused.

"I wanted to pass the message to people through my painting. I have also shown the struggle of migrants. I have also shown corona warriors including asha workers, doctors and others as 'god'," said art teacher.
At least six people suffered burn injuries after boiler pipe burst in dyeing factory in Surat. Two of the workers suffered critical burn injuries in the incident. Incident occurred at factory located in Surat's Palsana area.

He said, "This solution is designed for Govt to run their war rooms, control rooms and hospitals." Objective behind the development was to help patients to easily access information. A total of 32,224 confirmed cases have been recorded in Telangana so far.
Following the High Court decision clearing the way for the construction of the new Secretariat of Telangana government, the demolition of the old Secretariat complex began in Hyderabad. The demolition process started after the Telangana High Court rebuffed PILs challenging the K Chandrashekar Rao government's decision to build a new secretariat complex. BJP has been opposing the state government's decision on making the new secretariat. The TRS on the other hand has dismissed the criticism, while also accusing the BJP of politicizing the issue.

Informing about the weather update, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, IMD (Chennai) Dr S Balachandran, said moderate rainfall is expected in next 48 hours in Tamil Nadu. "During last 24 hours, fairly widespread rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry region. Next 48 hours over Tamil Nadu light to moderate rainfall is expected. "While, North Tamil Nadu and some interior districts of TN will receive heavy rains," he added.
