India conducts over 5.15 lakh Covid tests in last 24 hours: ICMR

India has recorded highest single-day testing of over 5.15 lakh tests to diagnose Covid-19 in last 24 hours, ICMR said as the country's Covid tally on Monday crossed 14 lakh mark. In 24 hours, 5,15,472 samples were tested on 26 July in the country with a total of 1,68,06,803 samples tested till date, said the ICMR officials. ICMR has approved 1,310 Covid-19 testing labs.

Number of COVID-19 tests crosses the 2 crore mark in India. 2,02,02,858 tests have been conducted till August 2. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 3,81,027 tests were conducted on August 2. Along with this, India reported single day spike of 52,972 COVID positive cases in the last 24 hours. India's COVID-19 tally has risen to 18,03,696 including 5,79,357active cases. Over 1 crore people have been cured from the virus so far, toll reaches 1,186,203.
