India sees 84k fresh Covid cases, toll set to cross 90k

The death toll from Covid-19 infections in India was set to cross 90,000 even as fresh cases reported on Tuesday rose to more than 84,000 after a sharp drop the previous day due to a massive fall in testing. There were 1,101 fatalities from the virus reported during the day. Cumulative Covid-19 deaths in the country stood at 89,984, just 16 short of the 90,000 mark, as per data.
