Wildlife team rescues 10-ft long crocodile in Vadodara

A crocodile was rescued by wildlife team in Gujarat's Vadodara. 10-feet long crocodile was rescued from an area of Virod Village in Vadodara. The crocodile had injured leg and it was later handed over to the forest department.

Temple's idol decked up with kites, 'charkhis' on Makar Sankranti

The nation celebrated joyous festival of Makar Sankranti with zeal on January 14. On this auspicious occasion, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Gujarat's Rajkot was decked up with colourful kites. The idol of god was beautifully decorated with different varieties of kites and 'charkhi'. Devotees enjoyed the mesmerising scenario of the temple.

Seaplane flight services to restart from Dec 27 in Gujarat

The seaplane flight services between Statue of Unity in Kevadia and Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad will restart from December 27. Director of Civil Aviation of Gujarat, Captain Ajay Chauhan said, "Hopefully in the upcoming holiday season more bookings will be done."

"Today, when democratic institutions are being questioned around the world, the Indian institutions are gaining more strength. Our ancient books have mentions of democratic values. Our founding fathers gave a final form to these sentiments in the Constitution," he added.

An Anganwadi worker rows 18 kms to remote villages to attend tribal kids and expecting mothers. Relu Vasave travels to interior villages every day from Maharashtra's Nandurbar. Relu belongs to Nashik and grew up near Narmada, where she learned swimming. Since April, Relu began visiting newborns, expecting mothers from hamlets of Aligat and Dadar. As an Anganwadi member, Relu checks weight, proper growth of newborns and their mothers. Relu has received heaps of praises from tribal people for her effort during the pandemic. 'Covishield' arrives in Delhi Ahmedabad

On January 12, the COVID-19 vaccine 'Covishield' arrived to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. It was dispatched by Pune's Serum Institute of India today. CEO of Delhi International Airport (DIAL), Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, "Temperature-controlled facility, ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to +25 degrees Celsius, at our two Cargo terminals can efficiently and safely handle COVID-19 vaccines. Both terminals can handle around 5.7 million vials in a day." The first consignment of vaccine will also arrive to Gujarat's Ahmedabad. The Additional Director of Family Welfare Department of Gujarat, Dr Nilam Patel said, "2.76 lakh doses arriving here today will be given to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar zones." The COVID-19 vaccination drive will start in India from Jan 16.
