Quota for Marathas: Activist Manoj Jarange-Patil toughens stand, Sena MP Hemant Patil to quit today

IndiaTimes Monday, 30 October 2023
Activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who is on a fast-unto-death for quota for Marathas, received support from two governing alliance MPs. Sena's Hemant Patil announced he would quit in support of the cause, while BJP's Sudhakar Shrangare wrote to the CM and deputy CMs on the issue. Jarange-Patil warned that if his "heart stops beating", the state government's heart would stop too. He also urged Marathas to abstain from violence. The growing anger against politicians was evident as buses were torched and images of political leaders were defaced.
