Cornered by Apple’s ‘Alerts’ around ‘state-sponsored’ snooping, Government asks iPhone maker to join investigations
The Indian government plans to investigate Apple after the company sent out iMessage alerts to individuals, including opposition politicians, warning them of potential state-sponsored attacks on their iPhones. The government denies allegations of state-initiated snooping and has asked Apple to provide accurate information on the alleged attacks. Apple clarified that some of the alerts may be false alarms and that its actions were not limited to India.
