Insurance bait: 17 years on, man arrested for killing beggar to fake death

Anil Singh Malek, a man from Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested in Ahmedabad after 17 years on the run. In 2004, Malek killed a beggar to fake his own death and claim a large insurance payout. He assumed a false identity and started a new life, even starting a family. However, the city crime branch recently received a tip-off about his true identity and arrested him. Malek will be handed over to the Agra police to face murder charges.
