AIIMS-Delhi doctor held for rape of 25-yr-old woman he got engaged to

A resident doctor at AIIMS Delhi has been arrested after a woman accused him of raping and blackmailing her. The woman claimed that the doctor tricked her into taking abortion pills after months of sexual abuse. The doctor's family demanded a dowry of Rs 25 lakh and a Scorpio car before the marriage, which led to the marriage being put on hold. The doctor allegedly used videos and photos to blackmail and sexually assault the woman multiple times. The doctor has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Dowry Prohibition Act.
