Cybercrooks use Naresh Goyal's name to dupe ex-PF chief of Rs 42L

IndiaTimes Thursday, 30 November 2023
A retired PF commissioner lost Rs 42 lakh to fraudsters who accused him of being in cahoots with jailed Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal. The cybercriminals impersonated police officers and convinced the victim that he was involved in money laundering. They provided fake documents and shared his Aadhaar details to make their story believable. This is the second case in Bengaluru where criminals have used Goyal's name to cheat people. Another techie named Deepti Raghavan from Balagare was also targeted, resulting in a loss of Rs 1.4 lakh. The case has been registered with Varthur police.
