Cyclone Michaung to trigger heavy rain in Odisha, to cross AP coast on December 5: IMD
Cyclonic storm Michaung is forecasted to cross the South Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Machilipatnam on December 5. The storm is expected to have a maximum sustained wind speed of 80-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph. It will result in heavy rains in most parts of southern Odisha and the coastal region of the state. Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy rainfall in the south coastal and adjoining south interior areas. The state government has put coastal and southern district collectors on alert and cancelled leave for field workers.
