DKS roots for scientific survey after Kharge expresses anger over delay

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 12 December 2023
Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar clarified his stance on the caste census, stating that he does not oppose it but favors a scientific socio-economic survey. He emphasized the importance of a methodical approach and expressed faith in the socio-economic survey. Shivakumar acknowledged objections from his party MLAs and questioned the scientific rationale behind the census. He highlighted technical issues such as the absence of the member-secretary's signature on the report. CM Siddaramaiah had initially planned to release the report but faced opposition from within the party.
