13,520 associations received Rs 55,742 crore foreign contribution from 2019-2021: MHA to Lok Sabha

A total of 13,520 associations and non-government organisations (NGOs) have received an amount of Rs 55,742 crore in foreign contributions in the last three financial years from 2019 to 2021. Union minister Nityanand Rai stated that 722 out of 1,615 applications for registration under FCRA were granted, while 225 were rejected due to not fulfilling eligibility criteria. The associations and NGOs need to obtain registration or prior permission under FCRA, 2010 to accept foreign contributions.
