Coming up: Five grand stadiums to strengthen Ahmedabad’s Olympics bid

After the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad plans to build a football stadium of Olympics standard and four international-level stadiums. The SVP Sports Enclave, approved by the Indian and Gujarat governments, will play a vital role in India's bid for the 2036 Olympics. It will feature a 50,000 capacity football stadium, two indoor arenas, an aquatics centre, and a tennis centre. The Gujarat Olympic Planning and Infrastructure Corporation Limited will commence construction by October 2024 and complete it by October 2027.
