Four of a family including 2 kids killed in Trichy house collapse

An autorickshaw driver in Trichy lost his mother, wife, and two children when the ceiling of their house collapsed on them. The driver, C Marimuthu, had a providential escape as he was away attending his brother-in-law's funeral. The incident occurred in their house 'Lakshmi Illam' on Gandhi Street in Keezha Ambikapuram. The deceased were identified as Marimuthu's mother C Shanthi, 75, wife Vijayalakshmi, 45, and daughters Pradeepa, 12, and Harini, 10. The weak living room roof built with red bricks and lime mortar had suffered water seepage.
