Marathas 28% of state population, 84% of them from non-creamy layer: Report

The Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission report reveals that Marathas comprise 28% of the state's population. 94% of farmer suicides are from the Maratha community. The report recommends a separate category for reservation in education and public employment for the vulnerable Maratha community.
