Karnataka renames residential government schools to Maharishi Valmiki

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah announced the renaming of government residential schools to Maharishi Valmiki Residential Schools and Raichur University to Maharishi Valmiki University, coinciding with Valmiki Jayanti. The day saw the CM paying tributes to Valmiki by garlanding his statue in front of Vidhana Soudha.
