A Baghpat court has ordered the demolition of a 60-year-old mosque, alleging its construction encroached upon pond land. The court, acting on an Allahabad High Court directive, imposed a Rs 4.2 lakh fine on the mosque trustee. The petitioner, Mohd Gulshar Malik, claimed the encroachment occurred in 2005 during the mosque's expansion. The mosque management plans to appeal the decision.
