SGPC panel goes soft on man who tried to kill Sukhbir Badal, reverses ex-communication decision

The SGPC executive committee annulled its previous resolution to excommunicate Narain Singh Chaura, who attempted to assassinate SAD leader Sukhbir Singh Badal. They also demanded a judicial inquiry into the police encounter of three Punjabi youths in Uttar Pradesh and extended the inquiry term for Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh by one month.
