No 'bump beating': Surat tech institute bans 'inhumane practices' during birthday celebrations

SVNIT has expelled a second-year student from the hostel for one year and fined him Rs 10,000 after videos surfaced of students being beaten with a belt during birthday celebrations. The institute has banned all forms of 'bump beating' and is reinforcing its stance against mental or physical harassment.
