Centre seeks urgent hearing in SC before ruling on pleas against Waqf Act

The Centre has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court, seeking a hearing before any ruling on petitions challenging the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. Several petitions, including those from Asaduddin Owaisi and the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, contest the Act, which aims to improve waqf property management. The petitions are likely to be heard before April 15.
