Thandanala, a village in Uttarakhand, has gained notoriety as a hub for hypnotising fraudsters. These conmen, descendants of former animal performers, travel to other states posing as seers. They dupe people into believing there's hidden treasure in their homes, using magnets and bowls to hypnotise victims before stealing their valuables.
