In Navalur, Rathnam set Gayathri on fire. Gayathri ended their relationship. Rathnam wanted to discuss an important matter with her. An argument broke out. Rathnam poured petrol on Gayathri and himself. He set her ablaze. People rushed to help Gayathri. They caught Rathnam. Thazhambur police arrested him. Police registered a case of attempted murder.
