Catchment areas of 7 lakes supplying drinking water receive 174-mm rainfall

Mumbai city receives its drinking water supply from Upper Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, Vehar, and Tulsi lakes, which have a combined storage capacity of 1,447,363 ML. BMC supplies 3,950 ML water to the city every day
