The Karnataka government has reinstated IPS officer Dr. K Ramachandra Rao as DGP after his compulsory leave due to a gold smuggling investigation involving his daughter, Ranya Rao. Ranya was arrested for allegedly smuggling 14.2kg of gold from Dubai.
