Heat wave to break power records in Texas and central US this week

IndiaTimes Monday, 21 August 2023
Power demand in Texas and other central states in the US is set to break records as a heatwave sweeps across the country. The Southwest Power Pool (SPP) reported a new high on Monday, with other regions expected to follow suit. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reassured residents it has enough resources to meet the increased demand. Texas experienced a severe power outage in February and residents are concerned about extreme weather.
