5000-year-old wine discovered in ancient Egyptian queen's tomb

IndiaTimes Sunday, 15 October 2023
Archaeologists excavating the tomb of Queen Meret-Neith, Egypt's first female pharaoh, have discovered sealed wine jars that date back 5,000 years. Some of the jars were well-preserved and still in their original condition. The wine inside the jars had turned into residue, but analysis is being conducted to determine its original color. The discovery is believed to be the second oldest direct evidence of wine and provides new information about Queen Meret-Neith and her time.
