Pakistan court forbids arrest of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif on his return

A court in Pakistan has granted protective bail to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, preventing authorities from arresting him upon his return from self-imposed exile. Sharif, who was convicted on corruption charges in 2018 and sentenced to 14 years in prison, plans to address a rally in Lahore upon his return. His younger brother, Shehbaz Sharif, welcomed the court's decision and stated that his brother was implicated in absurd cases. Sharif hopes to overturn his convictions and participate in the upcoming general election.
