Arizona closely monitoring use of self-driving vehicles

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is closely monitoring the testing and use of self-driving vehicles in the state, following California's decision to ban General Motors' Cruise from using its vehicles in autonomous mode. ADOT stated that it will make adjustments to a company's ability to test and operate self-driving vehicles in Arizona if necessary to safeguard public safety. California's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) suspended Cruise's autonomous vehicle deployment and driverless testing permit.
