Canadian driver has car totalled after red-light runner sends car spinning

This was the shocking moment dashcam footage from Ontario captured the moment a red-light running vehicle sends a car spinning and subsequently totalling the car on February 10.

The filmer from - who was taken to hospital for minor injuries - claimed that the police initially suspected they were at fault until the dashcam footage cleared their name and proved otherwise after another witness claimed they were at fault.

Since posting the video online it has garnered over 100,00 upvotes on Reddit where users lauded the filmer and chastised the other driver.

The filmer said online: "I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t satisfying saying to the police 'would you like to see the footage?'

And seeing their reactions to it.

"If you watch closely just after the impact my car spins towards his lights which is actually two reds, the three green lights your seeing is for the two straight lanes and the left turn lane.

"There’s a lot of lights at this intersection so it can be confusing if you aren’t familiar with it!"
