This is the heartwarming moment kind residents gave food to soldiers manning COVID-19 checkpoints in the Philippines.

Laire Cipriano and two of her friends drove to the barricade being used to enforce a coronavirus lockdown in the city of Cainta in Rizal province, Philippines on March 20.

They then handed a ''care package'' to the squaddies working through the night to help contain the spread of the pandemic in the country.

Laire Cipriano said that they appreciate the hard work of the officers so they thought of giving them a small gift.

She said "We want to be able to help even in small ways like this.

The more you give, the more you are blessed." The Philippines has 462 declared cases of the coronavirus and 33 deaths.

Officials have implemented lockdowns that prevent people from leaving their cities and curfews to contain the virus.
