Sony Launches $100 Million Global Relief Fund to Combat COVID-19

Sony Launches $100 Million Global Relief Fund to Combat COVID-19 The company announced its plan on April 2.

According to Kenichiro Yoshida, President and CEO of Sony, the global relief fund will focus on providing aid to three groups.

Those groups include front-line medical professionals, children and educators and members of the creative community.

Kenichiro Yoshida, via statement In terms of medical aid, Sony intends to donate $10 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund along with other organizations.

The company also intends to help support activities that prevent the spread of and contribute to the treatment of COVID-19.

Sony plans to “leverage its technologies” to support educational opportunities for children negatively impacted by COVID-19.

In terms of the creative community, Sony promised to “seek ways to support” artists that have been impacted by the global shutdown of live events and productions.
