22 years ago on May 11th, India started tests that would pave the way for its entry into the exclusive nuclear club, and be counted among the 9 nations to be nuclear armed.
India had to force its way in, by conducting a series of tests, for which preparations were made overnight to avoid detection.
This is a short account of how India made the world take note of its capabilities in the summer of 1998.
