Health workers at Madrid hospital protest privitisation of cleaning service

CSIT Professional Union protests the "privatisation" of the cleaning service at Gregorio Marañón University General Hospital in Madrid.

Demonstrators gathered at 6:00 pm on Tuesday (June 9) against outsourcing the center's cleaning service.

The union has also called for the immediate resignation of manager, Joseba Barroeta, director of Management and Services, Carmen Oñate, and director of Human Resources, José María Blanco.

According to local media, 553 professionals assigned to the cleaning service - including 531 cleaners, 97 who were hired to reinforce the service during the coronavirus pandemic - feel the future of their jobs is in danger.
