PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti on protest in Srinagar against new land laws and ongoing NIA raids said that workers were holding a peaceful protest and was not permitted to meet them after arrest. "PDP workers were peacefully protesting against land law passed by BJP govt to loot J-K land. Our workers were arrested and I wasn't allowed to meet them. Neither Civil society nor politicians can talk here, entire J-K has been converted into a jail," said Mehbooba Mufti. PDP workers staged a protest in Srinagar against new land laws and ongoing NIA raids at 6 NGOs and trusts in Kashmir. They were detained during a protest near Sports Complex in Srinagar.
LJP Chief Chirag Paswan has said that that Nitish Kumar’s time as Chief Minister is up and he will not return to power. Chirag Paswan said that the BJP and LJP would form government in the state after election and added that it would work for development in the state. Paswan further attacked the Chief Minister saying that people have not forgotten how he treated the migrant labourers during the Covid crisis and lockdown and also lashed out at him over the recent firing incident in Munger where one person was killed. The first phase of polling was held in Bihar on 28th of October and witnessed a turnout of around 54.26 percent. The next two phase are scheduled to be held on 3rd & 7th of November and the result will be declared on 10th of November. The major battle is between the Nitish Kumar led NDA and Tejsashwi Yadav led Mahagathbandhan. BJP Leader Lokendra Mishra on Digvijaya Singh's alleged viral audio said that Digvijaya Singh has come out of his hole at last stage of elections and further accused him of believing in management rather than democracy. Lokendra Mishra said, "Digvijaya Singh has come out of his hole at last stage of elections. He doesn't believe in democracy but in management. He has said in past that elections are won by management. He himself might have made the audio viral." Eknath Khadse claimed that many people part of the Bharatiya Janata Party want to quit the outfit. He made the comments a day after he joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) after quitting the BJP. Khadse had alleged harassment in the BJP via filing of fake cases against him. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan at his residence in Delhi. Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary D Raja, BJP MP Pragya Thakur and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar paid their last respect to Ram Vilas Paswan at the latter's residence. President of Republican Party of India (RPI) Ramdas Athawale, MoS Dr Jitendra Singh and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also paid their tribute to Paswan. The mortal remains of Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder leader Ram Vilas Paswan was being taken to his residence from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on October 09. Paswan passed away at the age of 74 on October 08. He recently underwent heart surgery in Delhi. He has served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. His son Chirag Paswan broke the news on his twitter account.
