New 90-minute Covid-19 test: Health passport possible says Oxford Nanopore CEO

A new 90-minute swab test that can detect coronavirus and flu, could helpcreate a 'health passport', says the CEO of Oxford Nanopore, the laboratoriesthat helped create it.

The swab and DNA tests will help deal with the virus inwinter, enabling clinicians and NHS Test and Trace to differentiate betweenCovid-19, which requires sufferers to undergo specific self-isolation, andother seasonal illnesses, the Department of Health said.
