At least eight people lost their lives and four were severely injured in a road accident in Rajasthan's Tonk area on the night of January 26. Injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. Indian Air Force Chief (IAF) Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria said that India too can be aggressive if China shows aggression. While addressing a press conference in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur on the sidelines of IAF and the French Air and Space Force's bilateral exercise 'Desert Knight-21', Bhadauria said, “If they (China) can be aggressive, so can we. We are fully prepared.” The IAF Chief also said that eight Rafale fighter jets have arrived in India and three will come by the end of the month. “Enough pilots are being trained. Parallel training is also being done in India. Numbers will be enough so that we can maintain cockpit to pilot ratio. By next year, the induction of the jets will conclude," he added. Exercise Desert Knight-21 is being held at Jodhpur Air Force Station from January 20 to January 24. The French are participating with Rafale, Airbus A-330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), A-400M Tactical Transport aircraft and approximately 175 personnel. The IAF aircrafts participating in the exercise include Mirage 2000, Su-30 MKI, Rafale, IL-78 Flight Refuelling Aircraft, AWACS and AEW&C aircraft. The exercise marks an important milestone in the series of engagements between the two air forces. Watch the full video for more.

CDS Gen Bipin Rawat lauded Indian pilots at Desert Knight exercise. General Rawat said that Indian pilots are able to adapt quickly. "Air forces of India and France have been doing exercises since 2002. Rafale, Mirage, Sukhoi aircraft were used in the training. This shows how quickly Indian pilots have adapted to Rafale," he said. Rawat added, "Our pilots are able to operate different aircraft. We saw France’s MRTT aircraft in the training. We saw how our jets were refueling from this aircraft." France's Rafale jets were seen landing at Jodhpur air force base on January 20. The jets took part in joint training 'Exercise Desert Knight'. Airbus 330 multirole tanker transport was also seen landing in Jodhpur.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat attended 'Indo-French joint exercise Desert Knight-21' in Jodhpur on January 21. "The Indian and French air forces have been holding bilateral exercises since 2002. Today we have witnessed 'Exercise Desert Knight 2021'. The significance of this exercise is that Rafale fighters which have been inducted recently in our Air Force and French Rafale aircrafts along with our (Indian) Su-30s, Mirages have trained together and we have shown that how quickly we have adapted to Rafale fighters," said General Bipin Rawat. He also added, "We also flew in a French multirole transport aircraft (Airbus-330) in which they can ferry passengers, do mid-air refuelling and can also convert it into a medical facility too for medical emergencies. We also saw how our Rafales, Su-30s and Mirages were refuelling from it."

Schools in Rajasthan' Jaipur reopened for the students of classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th on January 18. The schools followed COVID-19 guidelines such as social distancing and masks. Students and teachers at Mahatma Gandhi Government School were allowed entry only after a thermal screening. All educational institutions were forced to shut down due to coronavirus pandemic.
Ajmer’s Dharmendra Anija gifted his wife, Sapna Anija, three acres of land on moon on their eight wedding anniversary. Dharmendra said that he bought the land on the celestial body as he wanted to do something special for his wife on their wedding anniversary. “It was our wedding anniversary on December 24. I wanted to do something special for her. Everyone gifts earthly possessions like cars and jewellery, but I wanted to do something different. Therefore, I purchased land on the moon for her," he said. Dharmendra's wife Sapna said she never expected to receive such a special gift from her husband. A man from Rajasthan's Ajmer gave one of a kind gift to his wife on their eighth marriage anniversary. Dharmendra Anija gifted a part of land to his wife Sapna on Moon. Sapna is probably a first woman in the state who has a part of land on moon. Dharmendra bought around three acres of land on moon for his wife. Anija contacted America-based company Luna Society International to buy the land.
Several passengers were injured after a bus overturned in Alwar due to poor visibility amid dense fog. Volvo bus lost balance and the incident occurred at the Delhi-Jaipur Highway on January 17. Police arrived at the spot of the accident.
Four people were arrested in Rajasthan's Alwar for stealing caustic soda from a chemical factory. Tanker, with capacity of 40 thousand litres was pressed into the ground in a field near Sagar Marriage Home on Naugama road. Accused brought caustic soda from the factory and stored it in the underground tanker. Later, they used to sell it. 2 tankers along with an i20 car have been seized by the police. So far, only 4 arrests have been made. Further investigation is underway.
A groom in Rajasthan's Alwar donned a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit for the marriage ceremony after testing positive of COVID-19. Groom who was tested COVID-19 positive just before marriage. "Everyone will wear such kits during the marriage solemnizing ceremony," says the diagnosing doctor.
Three masked and armed miscreants robbed a Gramin Bank in Rajasthan's Nagaur. The miscreants locked the bank manager along with several others in a room and escaped with Rs 15 lakh. Search to grab the robbers is underway.

Union Health Ministry's Additional Secretary Manohar Agnani on January 21 said that no deaths were reported today across the country after the COVID-19 vaccination. He said, "Today there was one hospitalisation who was vaccinated on Jan 16 and developed intracranial hemorrhage on 20th. He's admitted in Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital in Udaipur, Rajasthan and it's not related to vaccination."
