Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has said that the party has always been in favour of the Uniform Civil Code and added that a decision would be taken if the government acts on it. Raut also lashed out at former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah & Mehbooba Mufti for their recent comments on Article 370. Raut also said that some BJP workers were not allowed to unfurl the national flag in Srinagar and said that this happened despite the abrogation of Article 370 in the valley.

Speaking to media in Mumbai on October 28, Shiv Sena veteran leader, Sanjay Raut spoke on whether central government should bring Uniform Civil Code or not. Raut said, "If Mehbooba Mufti, Farooq Abdullah and others want to impose Article 370 in Kashmir with help of China then central government should take strict steps. If any person who wants to unfurl tri-colour in Kashmir is stopped, then I consider it as 'Rashtra droh'." "We have said it before also that Uniform Civil Code (UCC) should be implemented in the country. If government brings something like that, then we will take a decision about it," Shiv Sena leader added.
Bihar went under first phase of polling on October 28. The voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar polls was recorded at 52.24%. While addressing a press conference in Patna, Bihar ADG Jitendra Kumar informed that 93 cases registered for violation of COVID-19 guidelines in the first phase of polling for Bihar Assembly elections today.
Bihar recorded a 53.54 per cent polling in the first phase of assembly polls on Wednesday, according to a release by the Chief Electoral Officer Bihar. "Till 5 pm the voter turnout in Bihar phase one election was 52.24 per cent. In 2015 elections, Phase one turnout was 54.94 per cent and in Lok Sabha elections it was 53.54 per cent. The voting is still underway in some places and the final figures will be out soon," Arora said. The CEC said 12 out of the 16 districts where polling was held are affected by left Wing Extremism (LWE). He said that the polling time had to be extended in 12 polling stations owing to the late start of the process. Watch the video for more details.

Director K Hussain Naqvi has announced his new movie starring Ashmit Patel. Titled 'Bombay 5', the gangster drama will feature Big Boss fame Somi Khan as the leading lady. The film is being dubbed as the comeback moment for actor Sujoy Mukherjee, who will portray a negative character. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday said that his thought process is clear, he has chosen the path of public service and not of politics. Scindia asserted, he is not interested in any post and only wants to work for development. "My thought process is clear, I have chosen the path of public service not of politics. It's been 20 years and I am determined to serve people. I am not interested in any post, only want to work for development," he said. "It was a government (of Congress) of corruption, working solely on basis of money. They made Vallabh Bhavan a hub of corruption. Don't ask me about this, you can ask the people of Madhya Pradesh. Speaking about former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's remarks on BJP leader Imarti Devi, Scindia said that he is full of ego and people will shatter it. "In defence, Kamal Nath said he forgot her (Imarti Devi's) name. How can you forget the name of someone who was in your cabinet? Because she's a woman, a Dalit? Is this his and Congress's thinking about women? He is full of ego and people will shatter it," said Scindia.

Compounding alliance troubles for the Bharatiya Janata Party, a leader of the Lok Janshakti Party said that Chirag Paswan is the outfit's Chief Ministerial face for Bihar. The comment was made weeks before the state goes to polls. LJP is a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance which is currently in power in the state. The other members are BJP and the Janata Dal (United), and they have already declared that incumbent CM Nitish Kumar will continue to lead the alliance in the state. The NDA is yet to conclude seat-sharing talks, as well. Bihar will vote in 3 phases to choose MLAs to the 243-seat Assembly. Voting will be held on October 28, November 3 and 7 in the shadow of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Results of the elections will be announced by the Election Commission on November 10, 2020.

"Election Commission today announced by-elections for Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in some states. BSP will contest all the Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh on its own. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the Chakura area of Shopian district on October 14. Speaking to media, J-K Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh said, "The encounter was on till sometime ago and so far two militants have been neutralised. The area is under search now as there could be more militants." "The operation is not over as such and more details on this will be available later," The DGP added. "Pakistan tries to infiltrate more terrorists before snowfall. Our security forces looking after the border security grid are thwarting Pakistan's attempts," he further stated.

He said, "10 terrorists killed in 4 operations in last 5 days. Today's operation killed Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah, a Pakistani who was involved in 3 major attacks in which 3 CRPF personnel died. This year there've been 75 successful operations in which 180 terrorists have been killed. Separately, 138 terrorists and their associates have been arrested. This year's operations achievements have set records."
The former Director General of Police (DGP), Gupteshwar Pandey on October 08 said that he did nothing wrong when he held the top police post in Sushant Singh Rajput death case."What-ever be the reason, it is between senior leaders, I don't know about it. Actor Kangana Ranaut on Friday said that "the government (is) trying to put me in jail" after a complaint was filed against the actor at a Mumbai court for "spreading hate and breaking the brotherhood, integrity of the country" through "provoking hate speeches" given by her.
