‘NCB forced me to implicate Karan Johar’: Arrested producer Kshitij Prasad
Kshitij Prasad, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the drug probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case has made a big allegation.
Reports suggest the producer told a court that he was forced by the NCB to implicate Karan Johar.
Prasad told c Mumbai court that the NCB had harassed and blackmailed him into giving a statement and said he was subjected to third degree and ill treatment by the agency.
The producer further alleged that NCB had picked up two of his friends who were also forced to make statement against him.
He His lawyer also alleged that his statement was not recorded as per his narration and language.
The producer has been remanded to custody till 3rd of October.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar had earlier released a statement saying that he does not know Kshitij Prasad personally and he had been hired in Dharmatic Production on a contractual basis for a project which eventually did not materialize.
Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Friday requested Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to investigate the drug connection of actor Vivek Oberoi and filmmaker Sandip Ssingh. "Bengaluru Police have come here to probe drug connection of Vivek Oberoi and filmmaker Sandip Ssingh. But NCB is not taking up the investigation. We will request NCB to investigate the drug connection and if they don't, Mumbai Police will do it," said Deshmukh. Meanwhile, the City Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru has served notice to actor Vivek Oberoi's wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi over links with brother Adithya Alva in connection with the Sandalwood drug case, the concerned officials said on Friday.

Investigation in drug connection within Bollywood continues. Actor Vivek Oberoi and filmmaker Sandip Ssingh's names have come up in the case. Commenting on the same, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said Mumbai Police will intervene if NCB doesn't investigate the case. Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty was seen at Santacruz police station on Thursday. The actor, who is out on bail, was marking her presence at the police station. The actor was granted bail by the Bombay High Court on Wednesday. Rhea has to mark her presence every day for 10 days at the nearest police station between 11 am and 5 pm. The actor was arrested in a drug-related case in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide. Rhea was released after 28 days after she was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Actor Kangana Ranaut on Friday said that "the government (is) trying to put me in jail" after a complaint was filed against the actor at a Mumbai court for "spreading hate and breaking the brotherhood, integrity of the country" through "provoking hate speeches" given by her. The actor took to Twitter and said, "I worship people like Savarkar, Neta Bose and Rani of Jhansi. Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut hit out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, calling him “petty person”. A woman was caught on camera thrashing a policeman in Mumbai. The incident occurred at Kalbadevi in Maharashtra's capital. The woman reportedly accused the cop of abusing her. She was seen holding him by his shirt's collar and slapping him repeatedly. Eventually, a female cop intervened to stop her. Reports said that two people, including the woman, were arrested. Fire at Mumbai’s City Centre Mall brought under control after more than 18 hours. 88 tankers and over 250 firemen were deployed at the spot in Nagpada area. Four firemen and one deputy fire officer suffered injuries. Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aadiyta Thackeray visited the area and took stock of the situation. Fire broke out at a shop in the mall at 8.53pm on October 22. The blaze escalated to brigade call (level 5) at 2.41am on Oct 23. At least 3,500 residents of a neighbouring 55-storey building were also evacuated. The cause of the fire is not known yet. Watch the full video for more.
