‘NCB forced me to implicate Karan Johar’: Arrested producer Kshitij Prasad
Kshitij Prasad, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the drug probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case has made a big allegation.
Reports suggest the producer told a court that he was forced by the NCB to implicate Karan Johar.
Prasad told c Mumbai court that the NCB had harassed and blackmailed him into giving a statement and said he was subjected to third degree and ill treatment by the agency.
The producer further alleged that NCB had picked up two of his friends who were also forced to make statement against him.
He His lawyer also alleged that his statement was not recorded as per his narration and language.
The producer has been remanded to custody till 3rd of October.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar had earlier released a statement saying that he does not know Kshitij Prasad personally and he had been hired in Dharmatic Production on a contractual basis for a project which eventually did not materialize.
TV reality show Bigg Boss 7 famed- actor Ajaz Khan has been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on March 31, a day after being questioned by the agency over drugs found at his residence in Mumbai. He was detained by NCB from Mumbai airport on March 30. However, Ajaz Khan denied the allegations and said, "Only 4 sleeping pills have been found by them. It had been consumed by my wife after her miscarriage as she was in depression."
While speaking to media in Panaji on March 08, the Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede spoke on drug racket. Wankhede said, "Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai apprehended major drug supplier Hemant Shah from Miramar, Panaji on March 07. 15 blots of LSD and 30 grams of charas have been recovered."
The Narcotics Control Bureau today named 33 persons, including actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, in a charge sheet filed before a special court. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may face a do-or-die contest in the state election with Suvendu Adhikari, her former top aide who ditched the Trinamool Congress and defected to the BJP in December. The BJP has reached a seat-sharing formula with its Assam allies ahead of the three-phase Assembly election that starts March 27. In the new rules for overseas Indians seeking visas the Home Ministry has said that the Overseas Citizenship of India card-holders will need special permission if they want to take up any missionary, Tabligh or journalistic activities.

Actor Alia Bhatt has tested positive for Covid-19 and is under home quarantine. Alia informed fans about the development with a post on her Instagram Stories. Recently, her boyfriend and Brahmastra co-star Ranbir Kapoor had also tested Covid positive. Alia has several releases lined up with Sanjay leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi. In the upcoming film, the actor will be seen in the titular role of a brothel owner. The movie will release on July 30 and is set to clash with Prabhas' Radhe Shyam. Alia also has Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra in the pipeline, featuring Amitabh Bachchan. The actor is also set to be seen in SS Rajamouli's epic, RRR. Speaking on incident in which oxygen was leaked while it was being filled in a tanker in Maharashtra's Nashik, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope on April 21 said it will impact the hospital and government will issue a press note after gathering more information in the matter. "Due to the walls leakage of the tanker in Nashik, there was massive Oxygen leakage. There must definitely have been an impact on the hospital it was going to but I'm yet to gather more information. We'll issue a press note after gathering more information," said Tope while addressing a press conference in Mumbai.
COVID-19 cases continue to surge in Maharashtra. The streets wore deserted look in Mumbai as State government has imposed lockdown-like restrictions in view of coronavirus till May 01. Section 144 has also been imposed across the state. Currently, Mumbai has 82671 active cases of coronavirus.
