Hathras rape case: Covid-positive AAP MLA meets victim's kin, booked by cops

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar slammed BJP after Hathras police registered a case against him.

This comes after the Delhi AAP MLA had gone to meet Hathras victim's family on October 4.

Police said that Kumar, who had tested positive on September 29, has been booked under Epidemic Act.

In a self-made video, Kumar claimed that he visited Hathras after he had tested negative.

Earlier, the AAP MLA from Kondli constituency announced that he had tested positive.

Taking to Twitter, Kumar had said that he would stay at home in isolation.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered SIT probe into Hathras incident.

The time given to SIT to submit their report to CM has been extended by 10 days.

The 19-year-old Hathras woman died at Delhi's Safdarjung hospital on September 29.

Police informed that all four accused in the case have been arrested.

Delhi Police arrest Mewat-based criminal near Kalindi Kunj

The Delhi Police arrested a Mewat-based criminal named Shahid Rafiq on February 04 after a brief exchange of fire near Kalindi Kunj. Rafiq was taken to Safdarjung Hospital after he received a leg injury in the exchange of fire. The Delhi Police said that 35-year-old is history-sheeter and was carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 from UP Police for any information leading up to his arrest. Following Rafiq's arrest, a semi-automatic pistol with 6 cartridges was recovered from him. Rafiq was apprehended on intel of Special Cell that he was planning a criminal activity in the Sarita Vihar area yesterday. As a result, a trap was laid and he was arrested near the Kalindi Kunj. According to the Delhi Police, he was involved in 10 criminal cases in Delhi alone. Aside from this, he was involved in more than 40 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, robbery, criminal intimidation, theft, etc in at least 8 states. Rafiq is also wanted in many cases of robberies and ATMs breaking in many states.

‘Covid-19 vaccination, 4 days per week, at 81 sites in Delhi’: CM Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said Delhi is prepared to begin its vaccination drive from January 16. After reviewing the preparedness, Kejriwal said initially vaccination will be carried out on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of every week. On January 16, the drive will be carried out at 81 centres, which will gradually be increased to 175 and then to 1,000 across the city. Vaccines that arrived in the Capital in the past few days are being stored at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital. A three-layer security cover has been put in place to keep an eye on vaccine storage. Vaccination drive in the national capital will be kicked off from the LNJP Hospital with a simple ceremony in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and health minister Satyendar Jain. Other vaccination centres in Delhi include the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Safdarjung Hospital, GTB Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, Max Hospital, etc.
