Thousands participate in recruitment drive of BSF, CISF in J-K's Budgam

Border Security Force (BSF) held second round of recruitment process in form of written test on Oct 18 for the post of constable in BSF and CISF for youth from 22 districts of J-K and Ladakh.

Thousands Kashmiri youth participated in the recruitment drive in Budgam.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing norm was followed at the test center.

After physical test, 5,151 male and 438 female candidates were found fit to appear for the written test today.

Traditional cultural activities resumed after a long gap of COVID-19 shutdown in Kashmir valley. The Gulshan Cultural Forum has organized two-day folk music festival in Baramulla. During the event, artists gave energetic performances including folk singing and short skits. "In the time of these odd days (due to COVID-19), we feel so good after attending this musical festival, many people came here to watch the performances," said a local audience member."In this two-day festival organised by Gulshan Cultural Forum in the time of COVID-19 pandemic, we tried to provide a platform to people, so that people can calm themselves amid the tensions caused by the pandemic. In this event, we produced drama and major events of mausiqi. People enjoyed the event and felt calmness after a long period of COVID-19 lockdown. It was a successful event," said Gulshan Badarni, organiser of the event. To avoid large gathering, cultural activities were stopped by authorities in the month of March after the announcement of COVID-19 lockdown.

Youths here are engaging themselves with sports and cultural activities and saying no to drugs and anti-social activities. Administration here is also encouraging the youths and providing them all the facilities so that they can excel in their respective fields. Dal Lake is a world famous water body which attracts a large number of tourists every year from across the world. Such water sports activities will also help attract adventure enthusiasts towards the Valley.

Updating on Budgam encounter, Kashmir IGP, Vijay Kumar informed that both the terrorists killed in the encounter were affiliated to Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit. "One soldier was injured andtwo terrorists were killed. Both the terrorists were affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit. One of them was a citizen of Pakistan, while the other was from Pulwama district," said Vijay Kumar, Kashmir IGP. Two unidentified terrorists were killed during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Oct 27.

Two terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad were killed in an encounter in Budgam, Jammu & Kashmir. One of the slain terrorist is reportedly a Pakistani national while another is a resident of Pulwama district. The encounter started in Budgam between the security forces and terrorists on Tuesday. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Moachwah area of Budgam district. The terrorists fired upon the security forces leading to an encounter.
