Shannon cancels Pontotoc football game due to COVID concerns

Shannon has canceled its home football game versus Pontotoc due to COVID-19 concerns within the Shannon football program.

Team was put into quarantine because of a positive case of coronavirus.

The shannon red raiders announced today that they will be going into quarantine following a positive case and will forfeit its game against pontotoc as well as the first round of the playoffs, effectively ending shannon's season.

If south pontotoc beats mooreville on friday, the cougars clinch a playoff spot.

If they lose...shannon makes the playoffs and whoever they were supposed to play gets a bye.
