BJP leader Imarti Devi got a setback after she lost Dabra assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh by-polls to Congress' Suresh Raje.
On the by-poll results, Imarti Devi said, "I have not lost, I have just not won a seat.
The BJP is still going strong and I'm happy that Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji will now be able to complete his remaining term unfettered, with an absolute majority."
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on January 09 reached Bhopal and met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. She also met BJP leader Imarti Devi, who was being called 'item' by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. After meeting Imarti Devi, Kangana opened up about the crimes against women. She said that law system should be reformed to provide speedy justice to women. Ranaut reached Bhopal after recording her statement with Bandra Police in connection with a sedition case filed against her.
Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury on January 15 offered Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee to join his party to stop Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to form the government in the state in upcoming WB assembly elections. He said, "They felt it'll be difficult for them to survive without Congress. They came to power with Congress' help but then left no stone unturned to finish Congress. They weakened secular parties like Congress and Left in WB, which made a communal party like BJP rise." "She (Mamata Banerjee) should come to Congress as there's no option other than Congress to stop BJP. If they can feel this, they should join forces under Congress' leadership. Congress had kept secularism intact for 100 years in this nation by facing BJP and its ancestors," he added. Adhir statement comes after Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Saugata Roy asked Left and the Congress to support CM Banerjee in her fight against BJP if they are "genuinely" anti-BJP.
On Jan 15, President Ram Nath Kovind made the first contribution towards the construction of Ram Mandir, which is to be built in UP's Ayodhya. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president, Alok Kumar said, "He is the first citizen of the country so we went to him to initiate this drive. He donated a sum of Rs 5,01,000." Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also made the contribution for construction of Ram Mandir. He handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to a leader of Vishva Hindu Parishad. He said, "I am grateful to be part of such mission." Ram Mandir is to be built at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi in UP's Ayodhya.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that both Covaxin and Covishield have been properly tested. He said, "Our scientists have tested them on all parameters and only then it has been decided to use them. Both the vaccines are safe and have no difference. Both of them will build immunity and antibodies." "But the antibodies will not develop immediately after vaccination. The second dose will be administered 28 days after the first dose and 14 days after it the antibodies will develop. Two doses are necessary," he added.
