Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public rally at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground on March 07 mocked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on her Ravan remark. "A lot has been said about me. Sometimes Ravan, sometimes devil, sometimes goon, Didi, why so angry?," said PM Modi.
BKU spokesperson Rakesh Tikait said farmers' union will go to Kolkata on March 13 to speak to farmers as "Govt has gone to the state". "Govt has gone to Kolkata so we will also go there on 13th March to speak with farmers," said BKU leader Rakesh Tikait. "I pondered over this and told myself that one of my shortcomings was that I could not make much effort to learn Tamil, the oldest language in the world. A bus conductor in Tamil Nadu, who has planted over 3 lakh saplings in the last 30 years using his own money, is garnering appreciation on social media. Marimuthu Yoganathan is a bus conductor in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation. Yoganathan in Coimbatore distributes saplings for free of cost to passengers travelling in his bus. He spends 40% of his salary to take care of these plants. Seeing his dedication, a friend from US donated 3 acres of land to Marimuthu where he works daily after duty. A known eco activist, Yoganathan has been awarded "Eco Warrior" award by Vice-President of India, 'Unsung Hero' award by wildlife film-maker Mike Pandey and film actor John Abraham in "Timberland" function held in Delhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a road show in Coimbatore ahead of his rally in the city. During the rally, PM Modi said that PM-KISAN scheme in its 2 years has benefitted 11 crore farmers. "For many years, the farmers of India demanded MSP rise. It was our government that had the opportunity to bring a holistic MSP rise," he added. He further said, "In the past 7 years, our efforts for farmers are aimed at giving them a life of prosperity and dignity.
