Congress has finally launched its digital media platform named 'INC TV'. The party said that the objective is to make Congress voice heard and reach more people. The platform will be available on YouTube. The party has, over the years, alleged that the mainstream media is biased against the Opposition, and the YouTube channel will allow it to convey its message directly to the public.

The BJP has swept the municipal polls in Gujarat with a winning performance in elections to six municipal corporations of Gujarat, winning Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot and Surat. Disha Ravi, the 22-year-old climate activist arrested February 13 was granted bail by a Delhi Sessions Court on Tuesday afternoon with two sureties of ₹ 1 lakh each. A meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office today to review the coronavirus situation in the country amid a surge in cases over the past few days. Lakha Sidhana, who is wanted in connection with the violence in Delhi on Republic Day, attended a public meeting in Punjab's Bathinda on Tuesday in support of the ongoing farmers' agitation.

Delhi police had earlier announced a reward of 1 lakh rupees for any information on Sidhana. Protesters had clashed with the police during the violence on Republic day; some of the protesters had even reached the Red Fort and hoisted religious flags on its domes. Delhi police has made another arrest in connection with the incident at Red Fort on Republic Day. Maninder Singh, who was allegedly swinging swords that ‘motivated’ protesters at the Red Fort, was arrested from Pitampura in the capital. ‘Singh was seen in a video swinging two swords at Red Fort with intent to motivate or radicalise and energise the violent anti-national elements indulging in brutal assault or attack on police persons on duty with swords, 'khandas', iron rods, axes, 'barsaas', sticks etc and damaging historical monument Red Fort on Republic Day,’ police said in a statement. Earlier, Deep Sidhu and Iqbal Singh had also been arrested in connection with the case. Over 120 people have been arrested so far in connection with the violence across Delhi on January 26.

Actor Anupam Kher attended the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' programme on Friday in Ahmedabad to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's independence. The 66-year-old actor, who is also a member of the committee said, "It's a day to thank those due to whom we're breathing in independent India. It's the time to recall that freedom shouldn't be taken for granted, people gave their lives to make it happen." Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and flagged off Padyatra (foot march) from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Dandi in Navsari and would end on April 5 lasting for 25 days. Union Minister Prahlad Patel led the first lap of 75 kilometres of the Padyatra.In 1930, the iconic Dandi March was led by Mahatma Gandhi. The government took initiative on March 12 because of that glorious day.

Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh attacked West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over her dharna against EC's campaign ban. Ghosh blamed the Bengal CM for deaths in Cooch Behar during the fourth phase of polling. “She (Mamata) is targeting the Election Commission and giving direction to loot EVMs. Mamata Banerjee is completely responsible for the deaths (in Sitalkuchi). She is not following the decision taken by EC and is sitting on dharna. She, who protests against SC and the Constitution, will never follow law,” said Ghosh. Mamata is sitting on dharna next to a Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Kolkata's Mayo road. EC imposed a 24-hour ban on the TMC supremo from campaigning in any manner. Ban has been imposed over Mamata's remarks against the central forces. Meanwhile, EC also issued a notice to Ghosh for his remarks on the Sitalkuchi incident.

Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi will visit Bangladesh on Mar 26. He'll be on two day visit to the neighbouring country. During his visit, he will be inaugurating Bapu Bangabandhu Digital Video Exhibition in Dhaka. High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh, Vikram Doraiswami said, "It is celebration of 50 years bilateral relationship of India and Bangladesh. Bapu Bangabandhu was the younger contemporary of Mahatma Gandhi. It's been years since any Indian Prime Minister visited Bangladesh. The idea is to showcase the connectedness between our two cultures and histories. This is the first time any Indian dignitary to actually pay personal tribute to Bangabandhu at his Samadhi."
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responded to alleged racism charges in the UK during the Rajya Sabha session on Monday. Jaishankar was responding to a question raised by BJP MP Ashwini Vaishnav. Jaishankar said that the issue will be taken up with the UK when required. "As a friend of the UK, we also have concerns about its reputational impact," Jaishankar said. "What I do want to say is that we have strong ties with the UK (and) we will take up such matters with great candour when required," he said. "I do want to say that as a land of Mahatma Gandhi, we can never ever turn our eyes away from racism wherever it is. After the review meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal over COVID-19 situation in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on April 15 announced weekend curfew. "Curfew passes will be given to essential service and to those who have marriages scheduled without any harassment. Malls, gyms, auditoriums, spas to be closed and cinemas halls can operate at 30% capacity only," said CM Kejriwal. Delhi reported over 17,000 fresh cases on April 14.
