Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on rising cases of coronavirus in the state said that lockdown is not a solution as it will stop economic activity. He urged people of the state to follow COVID SOPs. "COVID19 cases are increasing in Goa, I would request everyone to follow guidelines. This time we cannot impose a lockdown as this will stop economic activity. Tourists, as well as locals, should take precautionary measures," he said.

Tourists celebrated Holi at Miramar beach in Goa's Panaji on March 29. People smeared colours at each other and celebrated the festival of colours with full festive fervour. However, because of COVID-19 pandemic, this year public Holi celebrations have been restricted in multiple states. Large public gatherings are prohibited to curb the spread of the virus. Holi is celebrated as triumph of good over evil.
While speaking to media in Panaji on March 08, the Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede spoke on drug racket. Wankhede said, "Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai apprehended major drug supplier Hemant Shah from Miramar, Panaji on March 07. 15 blots of LSD and 30 grams of charas have been recovered."
